It's true, Faith never really catches a break whilst other, more obnoxious characters get stuff handed to them. Which is one of the great things about this ship- adversity.

I have to say if you feel like writing some Faith/Willow fic, I'd be all for it. Post S7 these two make a great pairing and make lot of sense to me
Also Faith/Wesley, Faith/Dawn (when Dawn's older) and Faith/Giles all sound worthy of exploration- even in just a friend/relationship way.

Author's Response:Other characters I have considered pairing Faith with have been Willow, Giles and Xander; perhaps just friendship, but I've often imagined that Faith and (x) any above character would be interesting as a couple. Definitely Willow- I was saddened to not see much interaction between the two in S7 or the comics.

Author's Response:Trust me when I say I am- to the grave- a diehard Fuffy shipper as well. However, I urge you to go check out some Faith/Giles fics. It's admittedly an odd, if not 'icky' pairing to think about; but the fics out there putting those to together are absolutely INCREDIBLE. Specifically, one over at Fanfiction.net by JinxGirl- I forget what it's called, but it's easily found in searches.

WOWZA! Bear with me whilst I come down from cloud nine after that epic chapter! And by far the best Christmas gift I received this year... last year... whatever!
Ok so I when I started reading I fully intended to review each chapter individually. However, I was instantly hooked on your writing style after about three entire lines and couldn't stop reading until the end!
I've read a lot of fuffy fics in my time, although admitedly not as much in the last few years (as you mentioned it's a dying ship *major pout*). But I can say with absolute certainty that (in my personal opinion) the way you portray Faith is by far the best representation of her character that I've come across. Or maybe I should say that it's the closest representation of how I view and perceive her character to be.
Now I have to give a big shout out and big up to all the other amazing Fuffy writters out there or I'll feel guilty! You know who you are ;)
I can tell by the way you write her that you relate to her character in many ways. I haven't written any Fuffy (or anything really) in about six years, possibly longer but your image of her is exactly how I would like (nay, love!) to be able to write her. Alas, my creative writing is somewhat lacking in creativity and apparently that's one of the most important aspects. Who'd of thunk it?!
But I digress and ramble... a lot! My apologies, at this moment I am severely deprived of sleep myself. But I don't have a decent reason unlike yourself, just a dog that wakes me in the middle of the night to alert me to the fact that there's a cat meowing at my front door (one that didn't belong to me) and the inability to get back to sleep once woken. And I'm doing it again! If it wasn't for the fact that this is probably the longest piece of text that I've written (of my own accord and on a subject I actually take pleasure in) since 2010 then I'd delete the entire review and just write 'Thumbs up! Great work! More please!'...
And last (hopefully, just writing an entire train of thought piece here) but most definately not least, my point is that this fic is an absolutely astounding and mesmerising bit of writing. Please do continue, at your own pace, to update and maybe work on that AU *physically retrains herself from going off on a looooong speil about her overall opinion of AU vs your glimpse into an AU*.

Called it on my relating to Faith; she has remained my favorite fictional character throughout the 13 years I've known her. Ten of those years spent in a deep depression. But, now over a year in full recovery, those emotions have never been clearer to me. I've, of course, never killed someone (never even been in a fistfight) and lived with that kind of guilt; but I know the majority of what Faith must have felt. I wish she was real so I could hug her for like 3 years (though I'd prolly get murdered as hell after eight seconds)

I am STILL waiting for Faith to find out about Buffy/Satsu and for it to be written about.
Buffy's friends know, Spike found out from Xander (and instantly dismissed it, which sums up everything I hate about his character) and its possible Angel knows (through Twilight-shenannigans) but Faith doesn't.
I hope that there's a significant reason for that- plus the whole 'keep them separated for no reason' thing in the comics- and that when Faith finds out there will be some surprising reaction from her.

Honestly, the more I read the comics, the angrier I get at the fact that the Scoobs just continue to alienate Faith even further and start to think canon Buffy doesn't deserve her in the tiniest bit. She's always nicer in fanfics. :3
I am super swamped with classes right now, so I still haven't gotten a chance to flesh out that AU. But I hope to do so soon. It'll happen. :)
Can't tell you what it means to me to get this type of feedback; Fuffy has, unfortunately, become a dying ship lately. So knowing there's still some shippers out there is all the yes. :D

I very Faith-way of looking at the events in the series. I was always surprised when Bufyf said about Faith 'I'm not gonna give up on her'...and then a couple of episodes later she does exactly that. I get it but it made me sad.
But S7...Buffy pissed me off so much in her attitude towards Faith, given what had happened previously with Spike and then with Willow. Both given fresh starts with very little effort on their part (compared to Faith who accepted punishment for her wrong-doing whilst those two get all the support they could possibly need.
And all that while Faith clearly still has feelings for the girl who cold-bloodedly stabbed her in the gut.
*sigh* poor girl
