I hate when I get so excited about a fic I think I've written a review, but I hadn't... As you can tell I'm doing a full on binge of both stories and can't get enough of them. Such a fantastic experience with a thread of true care and compassion from everyone that matters.

This follow up fic as well as the first one was such a great premise. And when you had Buffy enter Faiths mind via dreams that was brilliant! The things she was privy to certainly was eye opening. I can see how Faith would be wary, she wasn't the alt version and really would Buffy have ever given her a shot if not for alt Faith? Wouldn't mind another just to see how they grew and evolved. Love your writing and as always I want more.

I found this story to be wonderfully constructed, beautifully written, and for me the emotional beats were just perfect. I can't tell you how many times the tears welled up. The use of present tense was fairly new to me, but I found it adds a kind of 'warm closeness' well-suited to such an intimate narrative. The notion of Buffy being a kind of 'hypnopomp', guiding Faith through the dream-state of her coma into wakefulness, was masterfully executed.
I must admit to experiencing a slight wiggins with chapter 12, the one with the Fauneth. It seemed such an odd little episode, that I feared the story was headed off on a whimsical tangent - but it was swiftly over, and didn't really detract from the emotional core.
When watching the original run of BtVS, I confess that I completely overlooked the subtext between Buffy and Faith. Having now read this and many other B/F fics in the past couple of weeks I see what I was missing, and wish that it had become actual text within the show.
Thank you for Hypnopompia. I've haven't written anything creative for almost 19 years, but you've inspired me to try again. Back then I was a Willow and Tara fan (and still am), and wrote a couple of well-received fics that are still on the Kittenboard. Now, I have dialogue and the bare bones of a plot bubbling in my head for a B/F fic that maybe, just maybe, will eventually make its way onto this site. Thank you again.

I do like Wesley, I felt like even though his role in this whole thing is minor, what he had to say was poient for both of them.

Author's Response:Riley is not my favorite either! But he's part of Season 4 so I'm rolling with it haha. I think Faith's being super level headed about Riley! She doesn't like the guy, but she's still polite and she's not being overly demanding on Buffy about it. Showing some growth. :D
Powerful picture! This dream the shower everything. It's so good to read a story where Faith is not a perv. This scene was beautiful didn't feel sexual at all, it's really about bounds and trusts. I loved it!

Great tactical play by Angel, waiting for Faith to be ready to talk atonement. Works a treat and totally draws us in as consumers of the storytelling. One question here though, does Angel know about the new romantic developments or is he just attuned to how Faith felt about Buffy from before the coma?
