God what a great story!! I never would have thought I would like a story where one of them dies this much but here we are...just a testament to how amazing a writer you are I think. Truly one of my favorite authors of all time...fanfic or otherwise.

Great story. It's so nice to see faith without so many demons. I've always felt sorry for her.
Author's Response:Interesting way of putting it-- that she has less demons. So in some ways, she was protected by Deacon taking her in and hiding her, but obviously he also stole her rightful life and destiny from her...

However, this does explain why I got the feeling of Faith and Buffy's physical relationship moving quicker than typical fanfic pacing.

Author's Response:This comment cracked me up. :) I haven't received any hate to date, which has surprised me lol. I don't know that I've read anything that killed Buffy either--I'd probably usually avoid something with major character death (although in this fandom, I'd be willing to do it because dead usually doesn't stick haha).
I'm the same (little bit evil) person I always was... :p I've just moved on from killing other characters to killing the mains now. Maybe the evil has intensified a little bit. :D
I was half right! Gotta love a good slayer sacrifice. Wasn't expecting the ambush, very left field and exciting! Interesting to see how the tables turned with Kennedy teaching Faith the ropes. She's good at that, but what an a'hole. Sometimes I wonder how/why she managed to get with Willow. They are so different people.
Can't wait for the next chapter, I hope Faith doesn't get too injured trying to help save Buffy. I guess the still have a matter of getting to the docks first and maybe divising a plan.
I'm sure we'll find out in a bit, but I'm curious what breed of demon Deke is going for.

Author's Response:It was really fun writing Faith as the less experienced one, and how the different younger slayers would react to her/train her. I think Kennedy is a bit of an asshole, but her teaching style is probably influenced by the on the job training she got from Buffy (remember the "you're all going to die" speech?). Rona is going to appear more, starting next chapter, and I think she's been able to grow up from the sarcastic brat we initially met in Season 7, whereas Kennedy has been basically in Buffy's shadow for most of the time, so she's had a different experience.
The plot is definitely going to kick into high gear with the next chapter, so I hope you'll still be liking it after that one. :) It'll be up shortly.
My guess is the Dr. is planning to use Faith as part of a ritual. Blood of a Slayer n'all that. Something massive that only comes round once every 10yrs or whatever.
Bonus of Dawn and Kennedy walking in on happy-time or snoozy-time in Buffy's room

Fast becoming the best part of my week! I am very interested to see what Deke is getting out of all this. When I read 'blood moon' I immediately thought 'oh no she's a werewolf or something', now having looked it up it seems like Faith is going to play a part in a prophesy maybe? Hey, as long as the prophesy isn't that she kisses Angel I'm open to whatever angst you can throw. Thanks for the regular updates!

You're safe there! As far as I'm concerned, the fang gang died in the AtS finale. I can't be bothered to research how the comics explained otherwise. You're correct that this does not deal with werewolves. All else will be revealed next chapter.
