Wonder are how faiths feelings for Buffy will manifest now that she doesn't feel like an outsider and getting all defensive... Think that will be VERY interesting!

Thank you- I worked pretty hard to try and get the character's voices right. Plus I borrowed a few lines that were cut from the shooting scripts that I thought were funny and/or interesting.
As for Faith, there's lots of material to mine there, layers of mistrust and defensivness for Buffy to get through. Let's hope she's up to it. Thanks again.

This is so good. And raises all sorts of questions - if you know what's coming and change it - what effect do those changes have? We've just seen that poor student die instead of the shrink... What's going to hit the fan if Buffy stops the mayor cold?
i know it's a Fuffy, but I'm a little surprised that Buffy's feelings for faith have come out. I thought they were starting to in the real season 3 until angle and ficnh effed it all up, but this Buffy has been through that - and she's firmly on the het side of the fence, I wonder where they're coming from ?

It's always kind of hard to get an exact bead on all of Buffy's feelings for Faith. I think there's always a connection between them because they're both slayers, they're in synch on some level.
Also at this point Buffy is trying to make a go of things with Scott, seeing if things can work this time round. (Alas we know it's doomed whatever she does. She's just not his type...)
Plus her feelings for Angel are still there and will still be a factor in future chapters.
I always thought SMG and Eliza had a lot of onscreen chemistry in their scenes together, certainly more than her future boyfriend Riley!
Anyway, thank you for your input.

Well, *ahem* thank you. My beta never lacks for female company, I know that much. (I mean that in the way that she has a series of loving, steady girlfriends, nothing sordid. At least, not really sordid.)
My contribution is a simple tweak of a sentence to make it flow better or a little wordplay. (Apart from the stuff at the Bronze, and the...sweaty after-stuff, that was all me.)
