I think Buffy was open to working with Faith when she first woke up (like here), but once she stole her body.... yikes. :( But as you say, that's why we have fanfic. :D Thankfully Joss Whedon put the characters through hell so we could pick them up and give them lovely happy scenarios instead.

If Amy did something that horrible and then framed Willow, (and that's if) then she certainly ranks high on the 'evil bitch Big Bad' metre!
Interesting that Buffy didn't give Willow the benefit of the doubt (and I get why not) but Xander still does.
And Faith deciding to trust Willow and then going with her. Risky...and gripping!

Never let it be said that Xander's the sharpest crayon in the pack. He did stand between veiny Willow and the end of the world in the canon Season 6. :p He was right both times though, haha.
Amy is pretty full of stolen power by now, so she's def capable of attacking Tara viciously. I know you already read the next chapter so safe to speak freely. Willow's aiming to put Amy down hard after all this. We'll see if she succeeds. And literally I mean we, because I haven't written it yet! :D

Another great chapter.
Even though I love Fuffy stories, I'm always fascinated by any Willow/Faith interactions in them. They always have an interesting relationship.
I think Willow is with Faith like Xander is with Angel, she just doesn't really see clearly when it comes to her. (at least until Willow goes on her own little trip to the dark side...)
So its nice to see them both have a tense, heart to heart kinda thing.
Man, I thought we were gonna have a big Faith/ buffy arguement...and then Buffy gives a beautiful speech and suddenly that happens.
Very steamy, and worth the wait.

I like that comparison, Willow seeing Faith as Xander sees Angel. Tho now you've brought up all my anti-Xander feelings... :p
I think Buffy is willing to admit when she's wrong usually, and by the time she sees Faith, Tara is already sorted out. She could continue to argue with Faith that regardless of outcome, she deviated from the plan and was reckless. Canon Buffy likely would, but Alt B I think is more able to be a team player and acknowledge when someone else was right. I imagine when Alt B/F got together, they had those kind of squabbles initially, but over time they both grew up. Which works out well for us because there are smoochies instead of snark. :) Thanks for reviewing!!

Wow, plott-y goodness! :)
Lots of action, which was good.
Plus a few nice, quiet character touches, like Buffy and Faith in the basement, Faith's rememberances of her killings.
Liking Marcie more and more, she's a completely original character- sort of like a snarky Cordelia type, very fun to read!
Liked Faith sticking up for Buffy and arguing with Giles.
And all the Tara/Faith interaction.
The climax was exciting- but aargh! cliff-hanger. All will be forgiven if theres another chapter coming soon. :)

Thank you! love snarky Cordelia types! :p Cordelia's not in the story? Better stick in someone else to snark, I say. Marcie is very fun to write though. I really like her. I have a story for her in my head of how she feels emotionally and why she acts the way she does. She grew on me like a fungus, what can I say?
The next chapter should be coming like... tonight-ish. Is that soon enough? Probably not. :p It's long though. Forgive me, I have not the writing speed! On the bright side, it took me the entire next chapter to resolve the plot stuff, so I have to do one more to resolve the character stuff. It was supposed to be 14, but now 15. :)

Wow, this was very climax-y (Is that a word?)
Anyway, it felt like there were stakes, that people could get hurt and die, that they were all up against it- I was kinda worried about Tara for a sec there at the end, but I didn guess that it was probably a trap. Nice!
Other things I liked: Marcie getting angry that Faith was hurt (aw, they really bonded),
the whole magical tower/castle thing was really neat- something I wish the'd done on the show, which they totally could've with that castle that Dracula had. :(
Your Amy (a worthy Big Bad imo) is so much better than S6 Amy - the rational for her insanity/evil is so much better- I felt really sorry for her for a sec- that she remembered all her time from being a rat!
Faith trying to get all pep-talky but just coming off as irritated! Girl's got to play to her strengths.
Buffy getting angry at Faith but then trusting her enough to back her play, and Faith's reaction to that- very nicely written.
The ending with Tara managing to reach Dark Willow before she crosses that line. Good going.
Greayt chapter!
Looking forward to the clean-up and tying up of loose ends.

Ooh, I'm happy to have tricked you with the Tara trap! :D Re: Amy, I gave her a teeny bit of depth with that anger at her mother/burning the statue, but I felt like she needed something more since we've only seen her villainous side. She is definitely attracted to Willow's magical abilities too, but I felt like her time as a rat had some potential to be mined. I think on the show they indicated that she did remember, but her concept of time was different, and she didn't know how long she'd been a rat. I did feel sorry for her too after I wrote the scene. I never really liked Amy too much, but Rat Amy, I can sympathize with. :)
I seem to have blocked out the Dracula storyline. La la la don't tell me I can't hear youuuuuu.
I think the next chapter should satisfy the loose ends tidily. :D Let us pray it doesn't take me forever and a day to do it. Thank you!! :)

Ah yes, the well documented 'Sunnydale denial sydrome' in full effect- lots of good laughs at that one!
And then Faith said she was going back to jail! :(
I was all angst-y for a bit as Faith decided to go and do her time, even though she was fighting the good fight.
She would give all the happinest up for her shot at redemption...yeah, that's our girl. (Part of the appeal of Faith/Buffy to me is that basically Faith is very similar to Angel in terms of how she sees her past crimes/place in the world)- she's just a little bit more dangerous/sexy with it- plus attainble.
It's why Fuffy works so well as a couple for me (or at least one of the reasons...)
So, luckily Lorne intervened- he just couldn't see great love go to waste!
This was a really great story- a really fascinating universe- with lots of Fuffy goodness.

I love Sunnydale syndrome! Those damned gangs and their PCP. Interesting comment about Faith v. Angel. I do like Buffy/Angel and Angel himself as a character, but I wouldn't say it appeals to me that Faith and Angel are similar in this way. I feel totally on board with Faith's attempts at bettering herself, but Angel's kind of fall flat to me. Partly I guess because while obviously it's good to fight on the side of good, punishing yourself for something you physically had no control over and weren't present for gets kind of old, at least for me as a viewer. Angel doesn't need redemption up through like Angel season 2 because he never actually did anything, he just feels responsible. I'm not discounting his feelings, but Faith being a human being called to save and protect other humans and then doing the things she did... That's a way bigger emotional punch for me. I think after season 2, Angel makes tons of crap choices he should feel terrible about, of course. :p I think Faith for me has depth that the Angel character never did. Not for lack of the writers trying I guess, but I couldn't get into the Darla storyline, or the Connor one, or the big Cordelia love so... Meh. I do love the dark humor from AtS and his friendships there though.
Umm so fuffy. :D I think Fuffy works for me as a couple outside of Faith's redemption arch. Luckily Lorne is a big softy. He was one of the best parts of AtS for me, so I love sticking him in fics wherever he can go. :p Thank you very much for your kind reviews, and I am glad you enjoyed! :D

Buffy and Faith's interactions are believable within the context of the story, Buffy's suspicions (she's a smart girl!) and Faith's wariness of finding happiness.

Ooh, Buffy knocks Faith out! But still has her 'spell' memories, interesting.
This is so, so great- will Buffy forgive Faith? C'mon, she did the right thing... eventually.

Yeah, she does the right thing but that won't win her any points with any of the gang right away. Especially not with Buffy for obvious reasons.
The Mayor definitely hated Buffy so I thought it would make sense that he would do whatever he could to make her suffer, even using Faith to do it.

Nice chapter!
Faith dealing with Buffy's absense and her own sense of loss was touching, Faith is still so confused/alone.
Also, lots of sympathy for Buffy, two sets of memories can be tough...as my own fic explores. (Plug!) Seriously, good Buffy POV.
Yay, Riley...actually acting not like a douche. I'm very pleased when writers treat him like an actual human person and not a caraciture. Faults yes, he isn't Buffy's true love or anything. But Buffy fell for him for a reason...
Still, it was nice to see him act all irrational, hurt and jealous. (Very Riley) And Buffy keeping her true, confused feelings from him is very Buffy-like.
Faith warning him, punching him and then humbling him was brilliant! Go Faith...

Thanks! I didn't want Riley to be uncharacteristic but I don't like writing him so I wanted his part to be quick and painless. Or less painful, anyway.

Love Faith taking the Intitiative (no pun indended) and going to see Giles. And the awkward coversation between him and Faith and then Willow was good- Giles defending her. Go Giles!
Buffy's conflicted thoughts are quite well realised- you really understand her anger, confusion and sorrow as she tries to reason through it all. Plus her wishing that all of it had been real. *sigh*
And then the Buffy/Faith scene...really heartbreaking. But also sweet and a little bit hopeful, they're talking after all. And there was a couple of 'I love you's' thrown around, which is a big thing for Faith.
Really enjoyed this chapter... But maybe don't leave me hanging so long next time, I'm begging here! :)

Thanks! Yeah, I really wanted to show how hurt Buffy was but also show that Faith is hurting for similiar reasons as well. The "I love you's" were a definite must, too.

Very neat idea that's well realised and nice to see Buffy reaching out to Faith and Faith trusting her enough to respond.
And the whole scene where they had to undo the spell and so Faith spends one last day with Buffy is beautifully well written...and then they kissed! :)
Oh, man that was a good scene.
Plus Faith talking with Miss Calender was incredibly touching...I'm a big Giles/Jenny fan.
I do love that you put in a 'when Faith wakes up' scene as a coda, just for that nice happy feelgood ending.

I love Giles/Jenny too! I mean not enough to like spend my time writing them or reading about them, but I did love them on the show. I never wrote Jenny before, so I hope she sounded Jenny-like. If not, err, fanwank that the afterlife has made her more zen?
I have a love/hate relationship with Season 4 because I so desperately wanted Buffy to reach out to Faith in a stronger way than she had tried before, and really get through to her. I will take any opportunity to re-write it my way, haha. I'm glad you liked it, thank you. :) I guess sometimes you have to stick the happy ending on instead of leaving the readers with pitchforks... :p

Really nice chapter- starting to warm to this a lot.
I always thought Season 4 was a good spot to do an original story- probably because the actual plot is...less that compelling.
I like the insights into Buffy and Faith's characters. Buffy being jealous of Willow/Tara- their shared power- is inspired. Something i've never seen anywhere else yet makes perfect sense!
Love the details obout Faith's childhood- sweet and sad at the same time.

Thank you c: I'll be the first to admit that this story is taking a while to get going.
I tend to agree with you about season 4. The Adam arc as a whole was pretty dull, and that's the primary reason why he hasn't shown up in my story yet, even though there were several opportunities for it to happen in the last two chapters. I doubt anyone really cares what happens to him as long as he's gone for good ^^
Yay, I'm glad to hear it! I want to eventually see B and F begin to reenforce each other, sort of like Willow and Tara have done. It's going to take a while of course, but yeah, that's the plan.
Whew, the last scene with Joyce and Faith was one of the hardest things I've ever had to write. I don't know how other writers do it. Every time the subject of Faith's childhood comes up I just wish she was real so I could hug her.

A fuffy author can always earn points with me if they give Faith some positive relationships outside of just the one with Buffy. Plus, it helps me indulge my love for Tara ^^ Willow is going to take longer to come around, but you won't have to worry about her giving a big "why we should still hate Faith" speech every other chapter or something.
And yep, there's a 100% chance of buttkicking occuring in the next chapter, hopefully enough to satisfy everyone!
