I love this story! I can't wait to read some fuffy action. I'm so curious as to when everyone is going to find out about the wish. Great job.

Poor Faith. Insecure Faith is cute Faith but still, it's sad sad Faith too. When I was reading everyone going on about how Buffy could just ditch (for a while!) and Faith could just take over... well it shows that Buffy is still # 1 for a lot of the people there. When you think about it its kinda of a selfish thing to suggest. And I mean its a 4 year college right? Most Slayers dont live that long... chances are Faith would be dead long before Buffy got done going to Brown or wherever... Kinda messed up.
On the flip side its kinda cool how all their friends know about their 'dating' and seem to be cool with it overall. Hearing Buffy having to contain her 'hormones' is also a funny sideline.
This may seem a strange talent but... You're really good at making conversations seem painfully awkward. Like the conversation between Angel and Buffy just felt like... nails on the chalkboard awkward. Which to me means you did it well (if that was the intent).
I kinda wish you'd killed Spike cuz.. as much as I love him, I also hate him and want him dead. Strange no? In FanFics he's especially irksome to me for some reason.
This was a good episode. Me likey. Now I'm just wondering where you're going next. Are you just going to more or less play out Season 3 episode by episode, invincible Mayor and all? How's that going to mix up with Buffy's 'wish' spell? I'm real anxious to find out :). Fantastic fantastic story so far in my book!
Author's Response:Yeah, Faith is always looking at people for people trying to 'play' her, so her reaction to Buffy's college stuff made a kind of sense.
And, yeah, when I saw 'Lover's Walk' the first time and there all going 'hey, go off and enjoy life', right after what happened at 'Revelations' I got so angry
with people. (not so much Joyce- she's a mom after all, but Giles! Do your job, man.)
Yeah, there are some tensions in the Scoobie gang which will come to the fore later, but I always figured Willow and Xander would be supportive of Buffy. (hey, they got over her dating Spike!)
Buffy/Angel conversations were meant to awkward/painful because of the emotions behind them, so thanks for telling me that I'm succeeding!
I was so, so tempted to kill Spike, and for Faith to be the one to do it, but...he's so pitiful in Lover's Walk, I just couldn't. If I ever do a Season 6 fic- his ass is dusted! (grr...Spuffy.)
Anyway, refocus- without giving too much away things are going to speed up a lot around 'Helpless' (which I'm writing right now- it's hard) but I can't say anything else, except that the Mayor will become pretty important afterwards...

Buffy is really using her knowledge to her benefit. Well, to the benefit of a lot of them. I like that she was able to sort out her college issues right away. Definitely helped her with Faith.
At least Spike's presence solved the problem of a possible love triangle. He definitely pointed out the problem Faith and Angel had with each other, regardless of what they said.

Author's Response:Thanks, Buffy had sort of resolved her college issues already so I didn't want to dwell, if she hadn't gotten involved with Faith it might've been a different story.
Yeah, Spike was there to cut through the bull yet again, and this time I had Angel do the cutting off, because he's the one who's come to the realisation first.

Wow this was a very long and action-packed chapter! I love it!!! I forgot about Spike and the kidnapping. At least there's no inappropriate Xander/Willow kissing to mess things up! Angel's leaving... Yay! Buffy and Faith sorted things out, Buffy's gonna stay in Sunnydale and Joyce is okay with that! And Fuffy are gonna go make out at the cinemas! And the whole gang knows about them being together! When will Buffy tell her mum??? Also, as for The Zeppo, so long as there is some Fuffy cuteness somewhere, then I'm happy to read it, but please update the chapter after it quickly so we can get back to the new storyline and see what happens next for Fuffy!!!!

Author's Response:Ha! I think Buffy and Faith are a far more temting prospect than a bunch of bratty girls, but that's just me. Giles is made of sterner, Watcher-like material.

Damn I was totally convinced that the "lying bitch" Faith was yelling about at the end of the last chapter was Buffy. You totally had me going on that one, I thought we were going to have a repeat of Slayer rumble. Glad I was wrong... maybe it would have been more dramatic but I'm glad it wasn't a repeat of the show. Shows the relationship of the Slayers is different this time around, yay!
By the way stabbing the demon in the family diamonds... you are a cruel cruel woman (or man? not sure).
By the way, Buffy chopping someone's arm of with a thrown axe.. very brutal. But very fitting. And it came to a fitting end for Ms. Post. Take that for being a bitch... and monologing!
I liked the whole scene in the library with Giles. And it is true in the series that he neglected Faith, whatever his reasons may have been... I'm thinking maybe he thought the next Watcher was right around the corner and he didn't want to step on any toes or something, I don't know. But the gentle dressing down he got from Buffy was nice and probably needed. Looks like so many of the original problems are being averted. At this rate I hope you don't fix things too fast and start running short on dramatic tension! (I have faith you'll keep us our toes however :)).
And the last scene... oh my gosh where to start! I HAVE the vapors... I loved how Buffy put herself out there about how her life wasn't as perfect as it seemed. How she was really putting herself out there. And you do vulnerable Faith so SO well... like when her walls were finally coming down and she was so hesitant and unsure I just wanted to give her a big hug.. I really felt the emotion powerfully and could really see the scene in my mind. Then it ended in such a sweet and tender note. The only thing is that I wonder if Buffy is a little too cool with everything but it works so I'm not gonna give you any gripe about it :)
Great story, truly enjoying it and I'm glad you enjoy writing it. Seriously what other couples are there as awesome as Buffy and Faith? None really come to mind

Faith sure is vicious with that knife! (HA! Btw- I'm a dude, I just have some soft sensetive girly bits...metaphor girly bits, not boobs or anything. Anyway, I consider it a compliment that you couldn't tell. Most of the best Fuffy fan fiction I've read comes from female writers anyway so...)
Yeah, Buffy using an axe is a tad more realistic than using a bit of glass- gotta agree, still brutal.
Yeah I like Giles (one of my favourite characters) but he really dropped the ball with Faith. I just figured that he was so grateful to get Buffy (pretty much his surrogate daughter) back he...sort of ignored her, until it was too late, anyway.
Oh, and don't worry, the next two chapters are gonna be a little less intense, at least until the end of Amends. After that...it's gonna get brutal, I promise!
Buffy and Faith tentativly dating is gonna be a lot of fun, although Buffy's worries about her new 'status' will come up again.

The scenes between Giles and Buffy and Faith and Buffy were easily my favourite to write, and probably the most rewarding too (very cathartic...)

Wow! When Buffy and Angel kissed I had a feeling someone was spying. It makes sense that it would be Faith this time around. The jealousy ups the drama.

Author's Response:Yeah, you can get a lot of drama out of bad timing, I learned that from Buffy. And poor jealous, confused, defensive Faith...
It seems Buffy is making good positive moves in getting Faith to trust her, like being more open about all things Angel, but her feelings are complicating it. Definitely some drama there!

Author's Response:Yeah, Buffy's messy feelings for Angel will still be an issue in the coming chapters, even while she's exploring her feelings with Faith. Hence drama and complexity!

Author's Response:Buffy kisses girl, Buffy freaks, it kinda has to go that way in my opinion, at least at this point. But then again I think the only girl she would kiss at this stage of her life would be Faith, because of their connection.
But part of Buffy can't forget 'evil Faith', so I guess she has a real reason to freak on that occasion.
I do like writing the action stuff, a nice change of pace- glad you like.
Loved the sleepover! Very cool to see Buffy be more open with Faith about what happened with Angel. It seems like that would help their friendship.
Really liked Joyce in this chapter, too. She seems to be the mother figure Faith might need later. Definitely keeping me interested with this one!
Author's Response:Yeah, the sleepover stuff was hard, kind of nerve-wrecking because it was a completly new scene. I'm glad you enjoyed it, I think I got Faith's reactions about right, she always seems very down-to-earth when it comes to all the mysticl soap-opera stuff.
And I always like writing Joyce, and she and Faith will have some nice interactions during the Christmas ep- coming soon...
I was wondering how Scott was going to break up with her. It's fun to read how you're weaving the old scenes in with Buffy's new timeline. Her new attitude towards Faith is adding some great scenes to the chapters.

Author's Response:Yeah, Scott was always gonna dump her, even if she wasn't still hung up on Angel. Buffy just isn't destined for normalness- that's why we love her!
Added fuffy-ness makes any episode better in my opinion!
I think my favorite part in this chapter was Faith's reaction to Buffy's apology. It's interesting that she thought she was the one who blew it but it seems like if Buffy didn't try to apologize she wouldn't have found out how Faith felt about their fight.
Now that Scott's friend are still in the picture I'm curious how that will change Buffy's relationship with him. Good chapter!
Author's Response:Heh, I wrote it that way because I'm pretty certain Faith hasn't had many friends (kinda confirmed when she tells Buffy that she's always been a loner), so she might not have experience with the ins and outs of falling out and then making up. Buffy on the other hand, has had plenty of experience of this (many because of Xander...).

The way you wrote the argument was very realistic! They don't know each other very well yet so it's easy to believe Faith wouldn't be as understanding as the rest of them.
Now I'm intrigued at what will happen with Angel added to the mix and how much Buffy will stick to the timeline. Good job! :)

I like how Buffy second guesses how she's going about her second chance. It's like she wants to change everything but now realizes there could be problems with that. I liked how she interacted with Faith, too. It seems like she tried hard to not be shocked. :)
Interested in seeing how she treats dating Scott this time around, especially with her trying to concentrate on changing things with Faith.
Author's Response:Buffy's trying to figure out the rules as she goes, she's a smart cookie and knows about cause and effect.
And, yeah, Buffy wants to try again with Scott- I know this is a Fuffy story but Buffy doesn't know that! The poor girl has to come to that realisation in her own time...

I came back on here because I'd read chapter 9 a few days ago and didn't have the chance to review at the time and I'm greeted by TWO new chapters. If you could have seen the smile on my face.
I love this story. I will be repeating myself if I say why but the bottom line is you're doing a great job and I am in love with your characterizations of ALL the characters and Buffy's inner monologues and everything she says is so "Buffy" it makes me miss the show.
You've handled this pairing so well and made it feel so genuine that I can't wait to see where things go from here. :)
Author's Response:Yeah, Revelations came back and I just divided it into three biggish parts for your enjoyment. If I remember right Lover's Walk is just one big one.
I'll be interested if people think I captured Spike's character in the next chapter- it was fun to write, but also tough because I wanted to get his 'voice' right, plus him meeting Faith for the first time, and under very different circumstances.

It's really interesting how Buffy is trying hard to change her actions but still reacts the same if she's not thinking about it. Of course, she has no control over other people's reactions to her new outlook. It makes me wonder if there are things that will stay the same even if Buffy wants it to change.

I'm not only in love with your writing and this story, but the idea of giving the two of them (Faith especially) the second chance they honestly deserve. In my mind, this is better than canon. This is the stuff I wanted to shout at the screen during season 3. This is truly the way it should've gone.

In my mind anything that would've kept the gorgeous Eliza on Buffy for longer is better than canon- so I know how you feel, because it's Faith's vulnerability that hits me the most and I find fascinating (yes, even when she's doing evil, horrible things you still feel bad for her because we know it could've gone the other way).

Not much time because I'm running late for work (never can resist fresh Fuffy in the morning), but nice action, great Buffy speeches, and interesting new direction for our favorite pair. (God, I was hoping we could avoid those awful jorts this time around. But if she could wear them and still get smoochies, she has to know Buffy's sincere, lol)Anywho, not really a stickler for typos but there were a couple that took me a moment to figure out what you meant in this chapter, which interrupts the awesome flow you set. I figure it's a tradeoff for getting great early morning ficage, but maybe have your beta do a second once-over, or get a second beta just for proofreading.
Either way, I'm seriously appreciating your talent and energy, and you've already made my day!

Am so glad that Faith believed Buffy about Mrs Post and that there wasn't a major slayer throw-down! I especially liked that Buffy took note of Faith's non-bruised face afterwards too! Very attentive!
Really liked that Buffy went off on Giles about his watcher relationship with Faith, it should have happened in the original timeline too. It really pissed me off that Faith was basically the backup slayer all of season 3... No wonder she went bad after what happened with Finch... Omg will that happen in this too? Please no, don't like Faith being an accidental killer....
Am LOVING the way things are progressing between Buffy and Faith's relationship! Was expecting it would take a lot longer, but am very happy that it didn't! (Though I guess technically it did take 11 chapters!!!!

Mrs Post had worked her charms of Faith, but this time so did Buffy, so Faith chose correctly this time. *yay*
Yeah ,I can give Buffy and the Scoobies a pass on how they treated Faith, they're just kids and kids screw up, but Giles, Giles is a Watcher...at least he admits that he failed Faith in the comics (a little late!). Fortunately, Giles is so awesome the rest of the time, I can't stay mad at him, I'm weak.
Buffy and Faith have tentetavely started dating, there's a little while before we get to anything very serious, like luuuvv or sweatiness.
Without giving too much away, I'm looking towards Amends, Helpless and then the Bad Girls/Consequences two-parter, I haven't thought much beyond that.
Also my mind is thinking ahead to a possible continuation set during Season 4. Maybe.
Wow I never expected in a million years that Buffy, BUFF-EE would have one make out session with Faith and then... tell Angel she's totally into her? Did she come to terms with all the problems in her head about the relationship (possible) to just come out and tell others? Seems out of character for her... but then again she does have a head wound. I guess some out of character stuff can be excused like that.
By the way Mr. Platt... I love him. He was in only one episode I think and I loved him then even if he had less than five minutes of screen time. In here you've made him awesome and likable in just a few scenes. If I had a shrink I'd like it to be Mr. Platt.. :D
Man.. you usually haven't done cliffhangers this bad. This was/is a painfull one, I really need to know what happens next. Luckily we get a full chapter after this so... I'm hoping it will all end with more Buffy/Faith smoochies when it's all said and done. That's what I'm rooting for anyhow!

Author's Response:The make-out session was partly fight-induced, I suppose. But it did crystalise some thoughts that Buffy has been denying for a while now. At least since the Homecoming kiss, but also before. Maybe I could've telegraphed it better.
Also her kissing Angel, after everything she went through last year, she kind of snapped and let her feelings pour out. After all she's never been that open with Angel before, thats what I was going for anyhow.
Thank you, I myself love Platt and I thought he'd be perfect to give Buffy some unbiased, sensitive advice about feelings and all that girly stuff.
The cliffhanger was mean, totally mean, but I couldn't resist.

Again you do scooby banter really well. In the beginning of the chapter in the Bronze the whole scoobies chatting with Buffy was soooo reminiscent of an episode of Buffy it was almost freaky. It was like watching an episode really. Amazing job with that.
Also.. Faith saying 'I've shagged guys older than Giles'.. that was ick. Super ick. Triple ick. Made me shudder, and I think I might need brain bleach. UGH!
I always like Faith but for some reason even though she is totally in character she rubbed me the wrong way a little in this chapter. I guess she's just being her ussual volitile self. I think its telling that she responds better to authority figures (that is canon as well) rather than her peers... I'm glad you picked up on that and put it in to the scenes with the Witch Ms Post.
But it made up for any crankiness with that scene in the kitchen late at night. Buffy opened up and left herself vulnerable... and for a second I thought Faith was gonna stomp on her but she actually opened up too! there was no kissing or touching or anything but that felt like the most intimate moment between the two of them in the story so far. Bravo I saw, that was a wonderful moment!
Then.. they got their asses kicked by that demon (and I mean seriously... I always wondered why the Slayer doesn't patrol with and axe or a sword or something it seems kinda silly) and then the make out scene. It was really very well done and really steamy. Though seriously Faith's running away is starting to ... get a little old. Man. Poor concussed Buffy. She coulda used the help to get back! Still it was a great scene and great progress :)
Author's Response:Yeah, I actually had a real hard time with the opening scene. Sometimes translating what's in your head onto the page seems impossible, I'm glad you liked!
The whole 'Faith shagging older guys' was taken by comments her character made in the comics, but I think it fits with her character. (In 'Five By Five' when she gets picked up in a bar by Lilah, an older woman, business type, I got the feeling that may have happened before...maybe that's just me)
Yep, Faith can be cranky, spiteful and defensive if someone hurts her, but we love these characters for the faults as much as anything else. Poor, cynical Faith.
I have to say I'm very proud and pleased with the kitchen scene (does that make me conceited?) and I liked the way it turned out and how both characters played off each other. I could actually see SMG and ED acting this out in my head. *sighs wistfully*
I agree, the whole slayers carrying nothing but stakes makes sense when their hunting vamps, but when they go out actually looking for a demon...- pick up an axe woman!
I guess the reason the characters on the show don't go around with weapons is that the action scences are harder for the stunt people to film with them in, they tend to go with straight martial arts. Maybe, I dunno.
