Guuuhhhh...

I knew how much I loved this story, but it's been so long since I've read it that I forgot just how damn GOOD it is. For the love of GOD, Faith's descent is just so painful to read but so damn good. 

I still stand by my original theory, even though you've told me it wasn't your intention, that this is all in Faith's mind, until that undated entry, while she's comatose. Those same lines, about unexisting, about psychotic oases in the desert, about pulling further and further away from humanity (the longer she lays alone in the hospital) still pull at me like the did upon first read. 

I may have asked you this before, but have you ever thought about writing a companion piece from Buffy's POV? Not that Lascaux NEEDS a companion piece, but I think it would be interesting. 

But God damn, woman, this is so good and still one of my all-time favorites ever. :)

I think the moment that hurts the most for me is her killing the elk and then just standing over it and crying.

I don't see a companion piece coming for this any time soon. I've never been good at writing Buffy, and besides, the two worlds each inhabit are so separate that I'm not sure it would work.
