Loving this story. Was just a bit put off by all the Sips in the Buffy & Willow interaction.
Cant wait to see how she handles all "fun" that is about to start.
Author's Response:Heh heh. Sip. It'll be an interesting run for Faith - clean up Cleveland in time for guests! ~OW
I am enjoying this story so much! It is refreshing to see Faith come to redemption without having to go down the body-swap revenge spiral. Can't wait for more. :)
Author's Response:Yeah. I think that the body-swap plotline was the biggest reason for the Buffy's hatred towards Faith. I'm taking this from the idea that Richard actually did love Faith (for an evil guy), which would change Faith's outlook a little bit.
Forgot to say on the ither chapter I like Faith doing spells because slayer are supposed to be magic too. Still feeling the same way about Faith I guess, she doesn't feel that right. She's really rough and kind of money obsessed which some people are after they were poor, but it seems weird for Faith. I'm not sure about her giving them money. I agree with Xander that's she's getting away with murder without eve time spent in a coma. Her redemption on the show is part of what makes her so good as a character and without it she feels idk stagnant. Buffy forgave and forgot really fast. Then again Faith hasn't stolen her body and I think that's the thing that she was most mad about later in the show. Joyce's reaction felt totally on though Ican see her doing that.
Author's Response:We agree on the magic. I can't ever be super-realistic with the money thing, because I have no idea what it's like to go from having nothing to never having to worry about money again. Some people adapt well; then there's a lot of horror stories about them going bankrupt right away because they have no sense of value for the money. In any case, Faith is a practical person, and sharing the Mayor's wealth with his (and her) victims seems appropriate. This will be covered more as the story progresses. You're right: Faith is getting away with murder. I'm writing from Faith's POV, which puts us in her frame of mind. She's not feeling very guilty over killing two random men she didn't know. There's a good reason why Xander and Willow are apprehensive about Faith - simply put, she's not that good a person. Buffy has indeed forgiven, but I acutally feel that, between the kiss she gave Faith in Graduation Day Pt. 2 and her early dialogue when Faith first wakes from her coma that, assuming Faith was willing to talk, Buffy would have been okay with her. Again, there's obviously more to come on that. I'm glad you like my Joyce - I tried hard to get her right. ~OW
I like the idea that Faith isn't really in a coma and she's going to set up somewhere else plus the mayor leaving her all the money. I wish there was more dialogue. I know you have to set up the scene but it was really long to go without talking. Faith doesn't feel totall like Faith to me, not sure why. Abyway Good idea. Wanna see where it goes
Author's Response:Thanks for reading! I tried to run the first chapter with dialogue, but none of the conversations felt meaningful. If it makes you feel any better, I'm pretty conversation heavy for most of the story. I guess I have a different view of Faith's character than some. I hope you grow to enjoy it! ~OW
This was brilliant in that it was refreshing and satisfying how you had faith basically tell Xander et al to fuck off. Their treatment of Faith always irked me and made me annoyed at how inconsistent the writting for that show was. Xander is dating an unrepentant ex-demon- but thats fine; angel changes to angelus, adds a few more kills to his historic mass murdering record- but thats fine, willow gets forgiven for her violence after her girl friend dies, but faith gets a punch to the face when she comes back to sunnydale to help kill the first. God i hated that show. Hated the scobby click soo much.
Author's Response:Yeah, Faith's far more interested in Buffy and Joyce than anyone else. I also agree with you, though I think they did pretty well for a character that wasn't supposed to make it more than five episodes in total. That's what happens in TV series - an actor or actress nails the part so well that the fans go nuts, and they have to pencil that character into stories they were never intended to be in. The sad fact is that Faith is a more interesting character than Buffy (imo), with more potential for growth as a person. I have always argued that the best thing they could have done with the characters was to make the body switch permanent and kill Buffy off (in Faith's body), leaving Faith as Buffy having to uphold her legacy. Sarah Michelle Gellar nailed Faith's character during the body-switch, so we'd have had an amazing couple seasons where the truth slowly leaked out and character relationships changed. ~OW
I like this view of Faith. I like this story .It's nice that she doesn't go down that road of begging Angel to kill her or being in his debt etc. Looking forward to updates.
Author's Response:I started writing Faith based on two things: First, that Wilkins really cared for her; second, that she didn't suddenly lost her backbone or turn into a saint. So far, so good, I think. ~OW
I agree with faith that its best to go back to cleveland, that her territory and she has worked hard to make it her home, even Buffy shouldn't be able to get her away from it. an independent faith is an awesome faith. While she is in LA, she should come across Kate too, that would be a funny exchange.
Author's Response:We agree completely. I do have Kate pencilled in for later, around the time she discovers that Angels' a vampire. ~OW
So far so good, its nice to see faith making something of herself rather than being the muscle of the scoobies, pretty funny too when she only just realized she may like women. Looking forward to the next chapter!
Author's Response:Yeah, I definitely want Faith to be independent, though obviously Sunnydale will feature quite a lot. The B/F pairing will be pretty slow-burn. Not only is sexuality an issue, but I just threw long distance in there, too. ~OW
I'm hooked, cant wait for more.
Author's Response:Thanks! I'm happily writing away! ~OW
very interesting! wolf hybred for faith.
Author's Response:Thanks! I don't know about wolf hybrids, but I promise to throw a couple extra werewolves in there, just for you! ~OW
