Apparently I never dismissed reading this one! I have to blame the pandemic but in my heart I know I have only myself to blame. But I am actually happy about it? It has been long enough that it feel like reading for the first time again and that is literally the best.

Is it bad that I almost wanted Buffy to stay in the other dimension? I just feel so bad that her and that Faith didn't get any kind of happy ending (even though I know there's a part 2 in this dimension).

Author's Response:I think a lot of people felt that way about Faith being left alone! How I thought of it was basically that in this world, Faith is her own happy ending. She's loved, she has close friends, never had to deal with losing her watcher, and now Buffy's made her think a bit about how a relationship might work. She's a bit more open to moving beyond get some/get gone. So she's better than we found her, and I think there's hope for her moving forward.
Alternate dimensions are so fun to write! Glad you enjoyed the Wishverse world.

It is called Hypnopompia, and it is posted now. I am posting a chapter a week (at least until I catch up to myself), so there are four chapters up now. The fifth will be out later tonight (it is currently morning in my timezone). :D
So glad I sorted myself out and caught up on this fic. Now the sequal makes more sense as a continuation. The intimate goodbye was heartbreaking. It makes me a little sad that the cannon B/F pairing will be a harder slog.
It might not be on the cards, but I'd love a super awkward chapter in the sequal where alt Faith shows up and cannon Faith sees her interact with Buffy and gets... either jealous or balanced insight on what life could be like. Cannon Faith won't trust easy, but if she 'has a word with herself' it could be beneficial 😏

Sorry about that. 😋 That's such a cute idea! I'm cross posting this on AO3 and have been a little surprised by the number of people who have asked what will wishverse Faith do now, and been sort of sad for her that she's left behind without Buffy. To me, I considered her story to be concluded when Buffy went back home, but perhaps I'll think of an organic way to include her somewhere down the line.
I love your idea, but unfortunately am currently up to chapter 11 of the sequel and went in a different direction where I don't think that would necessarily work... but I'll keep it in my back pocket now. 😅😅 I'm still writing and have only a vague idea of where I'm going, so you never know! Haha. Glad you found this one and caught up, and thanks for commenting! 😄

Action scenes are probably the least fun for me to write, and I spend ridiculous amounts of time looking up specific combat moves and trying to find new things that look cool so I can incorporate them into my scenes. 😂😂😂 So action sequences take FOREVER to finish. I'm very glad that someone is enjoying them though! My wife is like, 'why have you spent three hours today watching combat scenes from movies in order to expand your characters' fighting styles, this seems like a lot of work???' And now I can say, in your face because someone appreciates it lol. You continue to be the best! The next chapter is up and I hope you enjoy! 😊😊😊

Author's Response:I actually do the same as you! I'm not super into reading sex scenes and am more concerned with the plot and emotional payoff. I do think it's fun writing them though (and try to embellish in ways that make it more than "just" sex). So I'm glad you enjoyed it! Afterglow for the win. 😊😊😊

Chapter six is extremely action heavy, but I've just posted chapter seven, so you will have that as an action palate cleanser. Sort of. There's a different kind of action. ;) So happy you're reading this one and enjoying! I have a great bulk of the sequel done so I'll just be moving on to posting that next. Author's Response:Ahah. Okay, before you curse me too much for the length... initially this story was nine chapters. But I just kept wanting to futz with the ending and add to it. Then I started feeling like the tone was totally different in the final chapter... long story short, I decided to cap this at chapter 8, and chapter 9 became a sequel, which I have four chapters done on. It will probably be 6-8 in total. I'd like to say 6 but realistically, knowing myself, it'll probably become 8. 😂😂 I should be posting that one right after I finish posting this as I'm making good time writing it. So definitely SOME of your questions will be answered within this first story. 😋😋
