Loved this.  Loved Buffy standing up for a change and doing what she should have done right from the beginning.  It was a refreshing take on the Faith/Buffy story and I, for one, was happy to read it.  No need to kick you.  :p

She knows why Faith has a hard time believing her, but Buffy’s on her third life now, and all of them have been too short for regrets. This could very well be her last one, and she intends to make it count.

Perfect.  Just perfect.

This was a nice read, Declan.  I don't think I've ever read a story where Buffy offered to take the fall for Faith when it comes to Finch, and it was even cooler when Faith manned up to it in the end.  Sometimes all it takes is a gesture like that to build a little trust.  And hey, three months later and it looks like that trust could be growing into something even more than friendship.  I'll take it!!  lol

I have a soft spot for fics that dig into Faith's emotions and feelings, especially concerning all the badness that happened at the end of season three.  Buffy has emotional scars, but Faith has physical scars that can't ever be therapied away.  It's a physical reminder every day of how bad things got, which has to be daunting when she's clearly trying to change her life around.

Faith losing her cool and going on the offensive while sparring on the anniversary of the incident; well, I don't think anyone can hold her accountable for that!  :p

Glad to see they were able to get their shit together!  Sometimes the best Fuffy stories are the ones where they have to fight to be together.  Nice job :)

So I know I got a sneak preview of the first few sections of this, and yeah, I loved them.  (Much like everything else of yours I've read).  But then I got to the middle, and the delicious Fuffyness appeared and my love grew through the roof.  Loved how casual you had their interactions; holding hands and not making a big deal about it.  Just simple, but still meaningful.  Loved their scene on the dock, and was not surprised by Buffy's little freakout.  lol  

And the cute little repetition of 'can we get back to when i was/you were going to kiss me/you' was so sweet.

The time jump was awesome; I'm glad you decided to go with it.  It's nice closure after you so rudely tore them apart after the retreat (ya meanie!).

Basically what I'm trying to say is I loved it, and I'm glad you didn't kill everybody.  lol   Great story :)

A truly perfect ending to a truly perfect . . . beginning?  Yes.  That's exactly what they have here.  The beginning of a beautiful life.  (And with that many people in one place, probably a life filled with many, many more embarassing moments.  I love this take on a post-Chosen "what-if".  It needs to be filmed and played every Christmas.  The last few lines were perfect.
