It’s July 2006, and Faith and Buffy are being sent to investigate a series of unidentified demon attacks taking place at resorts along the California coast. Staying and slaying at an all-inclusive resort with Buffy sounds like Faith’s dream come true. The catch? The location is a honeymoon resort, meaning Faith and Buffy have to go undercover as a newlywed couple while they investigate.

Or: Faith Lehane has rings on her left hand that say Buffy is hers, except this whole marriage thing is only temporary and, worse than that, it isn’t even real.

Faith knows that she isn’t getting a taste of anything she’ll get to keep, and she accepts that. If Buffy had ever given her a chance, Faith knew it would’ve been temporary. Just a hook-up. But at least there would be proof that Buffy wanted Faith, even if it was for one night only. The real gut punch here is the fact that as close as she and Buffy are going to be during the next week, absolutely none of it is real. It’ll mean everything to Faith, and nothing to the woman currently asleep (and quite possibly drooling) on Faith's shoulder.

And that, more than anything else, is going to be Faith’s undoing.

After Kendra's death, the Watcher's Council is unable to locate the replacement slayer. Six years later, the newly formed Slayer Organization looks for activated slayers and finds someone they aren't expecting.

After Twilight is beaten, the world's left without magic and what's left of the slayer army and the Scoobies has scattered. Giles is dead, and he's left most of his will to Faith.

Based in Britain, and rehabilitating Angel, Faith decides to build a new Watcher's Council, and to work to try to back hope to the world. It's hard to see if she'll manage.

Alt-Season 9.

"Been a while, V. How long did it take you to think of your opening 'intro-pun-ction'?"

"Ha ha, good one! You know me. I love to make an entrance," Buffy said cheerfully, standing a few feet away from Faith, looking pale and wearing all different hues of black. "And it has been a while. I thought about paying you guys a visit. But I had a feeling you wouldn't have invited me in."

"Can you blame me?" Faith said, feigning playfulness. "If you were me, you'd have done the same."

"Touché," Buffy said with a disarming smile. "I'm sure that's what I would have wanted."

"Just carrying out your will, V," Faith said, surprised at how steady her voice came out.

Sequel to "Marooned". Buffy and Faith leave their island paradise. Buffy is rescued by Giles and the scoobies, while Faith has been kidnapped by the Council.

Seeing their Chosen One lonely and miserable, the Powers-that-Be decide to intervene and set Buffy on the path to finding her soul mate. Can Buffy get past her anger and stubborness to find the one she belongs with?
